Mashatu Underground Elephant Hide

Eye-to-eye with an elephant foot! This is one of the amazing experiences one has when spending a morning in C4 Images & Safaris new underground hide in Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana. National Geographic expert Derek Solomon took a group of keen photographers to the hide during a recent safari and were completely blown away by the photographic opportunities during this excursion. Birds ranging from tiny Blue Waxbills to brightly coloured parrots and glossy starlings came down to drink together with a range of antelope and warthogs. But it was the elephants that stole the show, some standing less than a metre from the cameras and paying no attention to the constant clicking of cameras. This is something not to be missed during a visit to Mashatu but advance bookings are essential. Contact reservations at mashatu@malamala.com.
