Mashatu guide press release

C4 Images and Safaris are excited to announce a new chapter in the Mashatu Photographic hides. We’ve welcomed two new guides with a passion for conservation and photography as strong as C4 Images and Safaris’.
Both born and bred in Cape Town, Kyle and Ruth made the life changing decision to move their lives to the beautiful African bush. Clearly a decision well made by the couple who are now based at Mashatu as the “man and woman” on the ground for C4’s exclusive photographic hide.
Having dedicated his life to the natural areas of Africa, Kyle has embarked on a journey of photography to seek all that the wilderness has on offer. Kyle has guided extensively in the Waterberg, the renowned Sabi Sands and in the remote corner of the Kalahari. His vast understanding of Wildlife and in particular animal and bird behaviour has allowed him to predict and share the more subtle and overlooked moments in nature. Through his dedicated career of guiding and photography, with his camera and binoculars always at hand, Kyle won’t hesitate at the slightest to pass on what he has learnt about capturing those special moments in nature.
After a year of travel Ruth gained a degree in Fine Art from Rhodes University. It was here where she began to really pursue her passion for visual culture in the form of photography. She found great appeal in the idea of a single image being able representing a thousand words. After a stint working on cruise ships as a photographer, Ruth quickly began to miss the beauty of the African bush. On return to South Africa she spent time working in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve as well as the Kalahari developing her knowledge of the bush and all its beings. Combining Ruth’s love for the bush and photography seemed almost inevitable and thus has led her to her current position at Mashatu, sharing her love for the African bush through the imagery.
Together, Kyle and Ruth team together to share their passion of the bush and photographic knowledge with great enthusiasm and a touch of adventure to the visitors of Mashatu.
The above photographs were photographed by Kyle de Nobrega at various locations for more of his imagery please visit his website.
